Self-Reliant Diver

The PADI Self-Reliant Diver Specialty course teaches experienced divers to become more self-sufficient underwater, focusing on planning, managing emergencies, and using redundant equipment for diving solo or becoming a stronger buddy by mastering personal safety skills like air management, navigation, and self-rescue, making them more confident and prepared for any dive scenario.

With proper training, equipment and the right attitude to accept the risks involved in independent diving, an experience diver can responsibly engage in dives without a buddy. Self-reliant diving is an adventure activity that is not for everyone, but does have its place. If you have the mental discipline and commitment to learn and follow self-reliant diving techniques, you'll bolster your skills and confidence when diving alone, in a dive pair or as part of a team.

FLYING AFTER DIVING

For your safety, we require allowing at least 18 hours on the surface after your last dive of the day before flying. Flying too soon after diving increases the risk of decompression sickness, as your body needs time to release excess nitrogen.

Please remember to check your flight departure time in advance and plan your dives accordingly.
If you need help organizing your schedule around travel, our team will be happy to assist you.
